The other day my friend aaron and i took some super cute photos at this abandoned Wonder Bread shop.
We took a bunch of film photos, but of course we havent developed the photos yet lol. Mine are currently sitting with a number of disposable cameras, waiting to be developed.

I absolutely love thrifting, most of my wardrobe consists of thrifted pieces. Pickings are a little hard in LA, I have more success when im in smaller towns like Ventura, Santa Barbra, and Sacramento. I have a TON of thrifting tips, is that something youd be interested in? Im considering making a video ;) Leave a comment below <3

Anyways, Roxanne and i went to the ROW in downtown LA, its a new area where the American Apparel warehouse used to be. Ive been wanting to check it out for a minute. She took me to Bodega, and we snapped a few photos while we were there.

the perfect spring makeup

I look forward to spring all year long. It’s my favorite season (if i had to pick one). Once spring rolls around I practically live at the flower market, I try to keep my apartment filled with flowers and plants. My favorite flowers finally start blooming come march/april. Also getting out of the dark cold winter is always welcomed.

i took this photo March 28, 2017.

Theres something about the way the light hits my apartment in spring. I get gorgeous light all year long, but maybe it’s the way the light spills in through the fire escape- creating a beautiful dappled light across my curtains. It’s dreamy and soft. I made a little disco ball moment to hang in my window which has been really fun…

Im definitely trying to document my space as much as possible. And once i had a free afternoon, i set up my lights, tripod and put on some makeup. Im so happy with how these photos came out, im so excited to share them with you.

makeup + outfit details below

I got my fist PR package ever!! Glossier sent me their full range of Perfecting Skin Tints + Cloud Paints
I of course had to try them out. My skin is super acne prone and I have oily skin, btw, and i loved the skin tints! I can do a review on them if youd like, let me know in the comments!

I wanted to create a soft spring look. I used my new skin tints for a light coverage + concealer. no powders at all. Using a cream blush and cream highlight is a great way to keep your make up looking fresh and light. I applied the blush on my cheeks, eye lids and forehead to keep the makeup looking natural and sunkissed. I blended everything out with my fingers and added freckles at the end.

IT Cosmetics- byebye undereye

Hot Cheetos Make-up

“Im trying to be serious… but im holding a bag of hot cheetos” -me

whats up everybody welcome BACK to my channel, Hi how are ya?

In all seriousness, I filmed this video back in December 2017, so do not DRAG ME.
I have this bad habit of holding on to content- I used to be super serious about my social media game, the numbers were v important to me, and i overthought the way i put out content. If you take a scroll through my IG (@ewwjalanis) you can see my feed is color coordinated and very curated, and basically a glorified portfolio (which isnt a bad thing) with no personality what so ever.

I wasnt even sure if i was going to share this video. I was waiting untill my IG feed reached another yellow block, but as time went on, my feelings towards beauty videos and the industry had shifted. Last year i was super motivated and making video content all the time. All the while my actual makeup career being the busiest ive ever been; traveling to NY, picking up my biggest clients, transitioning from print to film etc. And ya girl experienced a bit of burn out, and frankly, it took me months to get over it.

But you know, ive always been proud of this video, it was allot of fun to make. so f*ck it??? lol.
I reedited the colors on the videos and re-edited the photo assets. It was cool to see that my skills over a year have really improved. haha.
I hope yall enjoy this lil video i made. I really don’t see myself making beauty videos again in the future, at least not like this.

Thanks for sticking by this little tangent. I hope you all love this video. Ive probably hyped it up to myself allot over the past year. But regardless, im happy we are here - together.
Show some love, leave some comments, lemme know what you think.

Hey guys, This year I really want to challenge myself and grow as an artist. As some of you know ive been dabbling in art direction. Im so grateful to have already worked on some big projects with amazing teams (that I cant wait to share).
Ive been trying my hand at photography.  Im definitely such a newb, but my thought process is to round out my limited knowledge so I can better communicate with my team.
Im so lucky to have talented and patient friends that let me try things like this with them. :) Heres some photos I took of my girl Natalya. You probably recognize her because shes been in makeup portfolio since I first started doing makeup 5 years ago.
Its a mix of 35mm and digital. :)
