One evening I noticed a gorgeous light bouncing into my room from a building across the street. So i made sure to take some portraits. If there is anything i love about my apartment, its the variety of light i get all year around. Also, yes my hair does still have a tint of blue in it from when i had cute multi-colored hair. Colorful hair was fun and all, but i dont think its or me. Its been a struggle when the purples and pinks washed out, and ive been stuck with this faded blue color for months.

the perfect spring makeup

I look forward to spring all year long. It’s my favorite season (if i had to pick one). Once spring rolls around I practically live at the flower market, I try to keep my apartment filled with flowers and plants. My favorite flowers finally start blooming come march/april. Also getting out of the dark cold winter is always welcomed.

i took this photo March 28, 2017.

Theres something about the way the light hits my apartment in spring. I get gorgeous light all year long, but maybe it’s the way the light spills in through the fire escape- creating a beautiful dappled light across my curtains. It’s dreamy and soft. I made a little disco ball moment to hang in my window which has been really fun…

Im definitely trying to document my space as much as possible. And once i had a free afternoon, i set up my lights, tripod and put on some makeup. Im so happy with how these photos came out, im so excited to share them with you.

makeup + outfit details below

I got my fist PR package ever!! Glossier sent me their full range of Perfecting Skin Tints + Cloud Paints
I of course had to try them out. My skin is super acne prone and I have oily skin, btw, and i loved the skin tints! I can do a review on them if youd like, let me know in the comments!

I wanted to create a soft spring look. I used my new skin tints for a light coverage + concealer. no powders at all. Using a cream blush and cream highlight is a great way to keep your make up looking fresh and light. I applied the blush on my cheeks, eye lids and forehead to keep the makeup looking natural and sunkissed. I blended everything out with my fingers and added freckles at the end.

Hot Cheetos Make-up

“Im trying to be serious… but im holding a bag of hot cheetos” -me

whats up everybody welcome BACK to my channel, Hi how are ya?

In all seriousness, I filmed this video back in December 2017, so do not DRAG ME.
I have this bad habit of holding on to content- I used to be super serious about my social media game, the numbers were v important to me, and i overthought the way i put out content. If you take a scroll through my IG (@ewwjalanis) you can see my feed is color coordinated and very curated, and basically a glorified portfolio (which isnt a bad thing) with no personality what so ever.

I wasnt even sure if i was going to share this video. I was waiting untill my IG feed reached another yellow block, but as time went on, my feelings towards beauty videos and the industry had shifted. Last year i was super motivated and making video content all the time. All the while my actual makeup career being the busiest ive ever been; traveling to NY, picking up my biggest clients, transitioning from print to film etc. And ya girl experienced a bit of burn out, and frankly, it took me months to get over it.

But you know, ive always been proud of this video, it was allot of fun to make. so f*ck it??? lol.
I reedited the colors on the videos and re-edited the photo assets. It was cool to see that my skills over a year have really improved. haha.
I hope yall enjoy this lil video i made. I really don’t see myself making beauty videos again in the future, at least not like this.

Thanks for sticking by this little tangent. I hope you all love this video. Ive probably hyped it up to myself allot over the past year. But regardless, im happy we are here - together.
Show some love, leave some comments, lemme know what you think.

I’ve been wanting to talk about my tattoos for a minute - Ive been working on a video for a minute.
Take a look and let me know what you think :)

I had my palms tattooed about a year ago, March 3rd 2018 to be exact. . After a long process of finding the right artist, im so happy to have Mark Walker tattoo me. Ive been following his for for a long time, you should too! Check out his work here
I have the 3 of Swords on my left hand, and a rose on my right. The 3 of swords is a tarot card, and if youre interested about the meaning, do a quick google search :). The 3 of swords really spoke to me and always stood out. It holds significant meaning to me and continues to be relevant as time goes on.

new video | reintroduction

I have such a love hate relationship with making videos.
2017 I was super motivated to making beauty videos. Shortly after i was picked up by first media and created Blusher, which ended up being the worst decision I ever made.. I continued to make videos into this year. But I lost my love and motivation for it.
But i’ve thought about creating videos constantly…

Well I’ve come to the conclusion that I dont want to do beauty videos anymore. I just don’t think they are my thing. But i do really enjoy vlogging, filming and editing in general.

So Ive decided to start making videos again, but differently this time.
Shout out to Roxanne for motivating me. We agreed to try and put out a video once a month.

Here is my reintroduction.
